NAGASAKI – When the atomic bomb exploded over Nagasaki on Aug. 9, 1945, my mother was pregnant with me. She lived one or two mountains away from Urakami, the hypocenter area. Three days after the bombing, she went to her parents’ home in Urakami and was exposed to radiation. I lost my grandmother, two of […]

Part I BEIRUT — The dramatic arrival of Da’ish (ISIS) on the stage of Iraq has shocked many in the West. Many have been perplexed — and horrified — by its violence and its evident magnetism for Sunni youth. But more than this, they find Saudi Arabia’s ambivalence in the face of this manifestation both […]

China and Syria have already begun discussing post-war infrastructure investment; with a ‘Matchmaking Fair for Syria Reconstruction’ held in Beijing Amid the proverbial doom and gloom pervading all things Syria, the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune sometimes yield, well, good fortune. Take what happened this past Sunday in Beijing. The China-Arab Exchange Association and the Syrian Embassy organized a Syria Day Expo crammed with hundreds of Chinese specialists in infrastructure investment. It was a sort of mini-gathering of the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), billed as “The First Project Matchmaking Fair for Syria Reconstruction”.

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said Tuesday that the U.S. would continue to finance and provide weapons to Syrian Kurdish fighters after the operation in Raqqa, Syria. It is noteworthy that such plans completely contradict the Pentagon’s recent promises that arms given to the Syrian Kurds would be taken back after the offensive in Raqqa. […]

Pompeo clarified, President Donald Trump ordered to conduct an investigation on the chemical attack in the Syrian province of Idlib. In their work, […]

The Times story […]

The Trump-Putin Meeting: Establishment of a Personal Relationship, “There was Positive Chemistry Between the Two” On July 7 following Trump’s meeting with Putin, a US Press Briefing was held at the G-20 in Hamburg. It is important to analyze the shift in political discourse of both President Trump and Secretary of State Tillerson. The main contribution of the Trump-Putin meeting was to establish communication at a personal level. The World is at a dangerous crossroads. That Trump-Putin personal relationship is fundamental. History tells us that political misunderstandings can lead to war.On July 7 following Trump’s meeting with Putin, a US Press Briefing was held at the G-20 in Hamburg. The main contribution of the Trump-Putin meeting was to establish communication at a personal level. The World is at a dangerous crossroads. That Trump-Putin personal relationship is fundamental. History tells us that political misunderstandings can lead to war. Admittedly, no significant shifts in US foreign policy have occurred: the Pentagon’s military agenda prevails under the helm of Defense Secretary “Mad Dog” James Mattis. Media lies and political deceit also prevail. Yet at the same time, discussion and diplomatic exchange have resumed –which in many regards is an important achievement.

On June 14th, Human Rights Watch headlined “Danger From US White Phosphorous”, and linked to far more evidence of America’s firebombings in Syria and Iraq, than had ever been presented regarding the alleged-by-America April 4th sarin gas event that allegedly resulted in Syria from one of Assad’s bombs on that day having hit a ‘rebel’ […]

“Welcome to Hell!” is the slogan with which G20 protesters greet the self-appointed leaders of the world to their summit on 7 and 8 July 2017 in Hamburg, Germany, under Madame Merkel’s auspices to discuss the calamities of our globe and how to resolve them. Never mind that the distress of Mother Earth has been mostly caused by those who represent the West, and now pretend to fix it. How utterly arrogant – and hypocritical! In the wake of the summit, police were beating on aggressively against the demonstrators, most of them peaceful, unarmed; but some of them violent and hooded, as old tradition dictates, so they will not be recognized as police themselves or patsies of the police. Many people were hurt, several to the point of hospitalization. And the meeting just began.

On July 4, 2017, Xi Jinping was welcomed to Moscow by Putin. Their twenty-first official meeting was useful for coordinating their next moves concerning the international issues on the agenda ahead of the G20 meeting. The U.S. is giving up its hopeless position at the Syrian-Iraq border crossing near al-Tanf in south east Syria. The U.S. military had earlier bombed Syrian forces when they came near that position but it then found itself outmaneuvered, cut off from the north and enclosed in a useless area. Al-Tanf is in the blue area with the two blue arrows at the bottom of the map. It will soon be painted red as liberated and under Syrian government control. To recap: The U.S. plan was to move from al-Tanf north towards the Euphrates river and to thereby capture and control the whole south-east of Syria. But Syria and its allies made an unexpected move and prevented that plan. The invaders are now cut off from the Euphrates by a Syrian west-to-east line that ends at the Iraqi border. On the Iraqi side elements of the Popular Military Unites under the command of the Iraqi government are moving to meet the Syrian forces at the border.

According to CNN TV channel with reference to unnamed sources, the Pentagon got fully operational its warships and aviation for monitoring the Syrian Al-Shayrat airbase as if the Syrian government makes any further moves toward a chemical weapons attack. CNN also reports, that Washington currently is not going to attack Syria. At the same time, the U.S.S. George H.W. Bush as well as two frigates and cruisers, equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles, are located in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. Thus, the Pentagon at any time will be able to initiate a new missile strike on Syria. In addition, the U.S. will be able to use the International coalition jets, which under pretext of fighting terrorism continue to carry out indiscriminate attacks on residential areas.

Unlike Oliver Stone, who knew how to interview Vladimir Putin, Megyn Kelly did not. Thus, she made a fool of herself, which is par for her course. Now the entire Western media has joined Megyn in foolishness, or so it appears from a RT report. James O’Keefe has senior CNN producer John Bonifield on video telling O’Keefe that CNN’s anti-Russia reporting is purely for ratings: “It’s mostly bullshit right now. Like, we don’t have any big giant proof.” CNN’s Bonifield is reported to go on to say that “our CIA is doing shit all the time, we’re out there trying to manipulate governments.”
