U2 spy plane   China spies on America—or harasses it, at least—to the best of Beijing’s limited ability. And America definitely spies on China. But just how much? Most U.S. intelligence activities are deeply classified, but thanks to some redacted official documents, we have at least a basic sense of the American aerial surveillance campaign targeting […]

On January 3 Rear Admiral Viktor Bursuk, a deputy commander of the Russian navy who oversees weapons procurement, said Russia’s Navy is expected to receive 40 new warships and auxiliary vessels in 2014. In addition to surface ships of various classes, the Navy will also commission the third Borey-class nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine, the Vladimir Monomakh, and a Varshavyanka-class diesel electric submarine. Russia will continue the repair and overhaul of the Admiral Nakhimov nuclear-powered missile cruiser and three nuclear-powered attack submarines this year. The Admiral Nakhimov is expected to rejoin the Russian navy in 2018 with the most advanced weapons systems for its vessel type, the Sevmash shipyard said in June last year.

North Korea has demanded South Korea and the US halt their annual military drill, calling it “a serious provocation.” If not, north-south relations “will plunge into a deadlock and unimaginable holocaust,” says Pyongyang. “We sternly warn the US and the South Korean authorities to stop the dangerous military exercises which may push the situation on the peninsula and the north-south ties to a catastrophe,” said the spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK) in a statement, reported [North Korea’s] KCNA state news. The US and South Korea, which have shared the cost of hosting American soldiers since 1991, are planning to stage military exercises late February. The annual drills such as ‘Key Resolve’ and ‘Ulchi-Freedom-Guardian’, staged by Seoul and Washington, focus on defending the South from attacks, including possible ones from the North.

Major media editors support what demands condemnation. Wall Street Journal editors are worse than most. They endorse Washington’s imperial agenda. They believe might makes right. On January 2, they headlined ”Victory in Okinawa,” saying: “…Japanese authorities will allow the US military to relocate an air base on the strategically significant island of Okinawa.” “Think of it as a triumph of democratic realism in the face of renewed regional threats.” America’s presence constitutes the most significant regional threat by far. Not according to Journal editors. They falsely accused China of “saber-rattling.” They want its “aggressive behavior deterred.” They claimed “nervous officials across Asia” want defense ties with America strengthened. Washington pressures them to do so.

The UN Sanctions Committee Must Make its Records Public     The terms “transparency” and “accountability” are used with greater frequency at United Nations briefings than in practically any other venue. US military presence expanded around the World has expanded dramatically in the course of the last five years. This study is largely based on data for the period 2001-2005. The Worldwide control of humanity’s economic, social and political activities is under the helm of US corporate and military power. Underlying this process are various schemes of direct and indirect military intervention. These US sponsored strategies ultimately consist in a process of global subordination. Where is the Threat? The 2000 Global Report published in 1980 had outlined “the State of the World” by focusing on so-called “level of threats” which might negatively influence or undermine US interests. Twenty years later, US strategists, in an attempt to justify their military interventions in different parts of the World, have conceptualized the greatest fraud in US history, namely “the Global War on Terrorism” (GWOT). The latter, using a fabricated pretext constitutes a global war against all those who oppose US hegemony. A modern form of slavery, instrumented through militarization and the “free market” has unfolded.

It all began when I wrote a critique, ‘It takes two to tango’, on Dr. Pak, Moon-J’s article about his allegation that ‘the US and China are planning to divide the North Korea territory into two and occupy it when the Kim Dynasty collapse in a ‘soft-landing’ fashion. I first thought the scenarios plotted were like a Hollywood movie scripts that the plan might have been a half-baked product of a bored intern at the US State Dept., a frosh who poked fun at the foreign policy of the US. However, one of my friend living in LA has given me a web-link in which the plan was actually originated from the 300 plus-page research paper by Mr. Bennett, a well-paid researcher of the Rand Corporation, whose clients include the Governments of Japan and S. Korea, US Pacific Command and Defense Department.

“The individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists.” (J.Edgar Hoover,1895-1972.)     Since the fairy tale about weapons of mass destruction that can be launched against Western targets “within forty five minutes” is well past it’s sell by date, the trans-Atlantic hasbara industry has dreamed […]

The Neocon American and Zionist Imperialist One Percenters A friend sent me the following entitled “The most honest three minutes of television EVER”: http://www.safeshare.tv/w/UAGOcLSuLX. A young woman asks a panel “Can you say why America is the greatest country in the world?” One panelist says “Diversity and opportunity”, another says “Freedom, freedom” but the third says “It isn’t” and explains why in “The most honest three and a half minutes of television EVER”. As a person who has been immensely inspired by the best and brightest of America I must agree with the dissident panelist.

Korea warns of ‘all-out war’     Seoul (AFP) – North Korea on Saturday issued a fresh warning of an “all-out war”, urging the United States to stop military drills and what it described as “nuclear blackmail”.
