Major media editors support what demands condemnation. Wall Street Journal editors are worse than most. They endorse Washington’s imperial agenda. They believe might makes right. On January 2, they headlined ”Victory in Okinawa,” saying: “…Japanese authorities will allow the US military to relocate an air base on the strategically significant island of Okinawa.” “Think of it as a triumph of democratic realism in the face of renewed regional threats.” America’s presence constitutes the most significant regional threat by far. Not according to Journal editors. They falsely accused China of “saber-rattling.” They want its “aggressive behavior deterred.” They claimed “nervous officials across Asia” want defense ties with America strengthened. Washington pressures them to do so.

No nations more egregiously violate legal, moral and ethical principles, standards and norms. None do so more contemptuously. None operate more lawlessly. None more mock the season’s spirit. None more do it throughout the year after year after year. None are more disgraceful. None inflict more harm on humanity. None more threaten its survival. None […]

Israel gets away with daily crimes of war, against humanity and slow-motion genocide. It does so with impunity. It does it because world leaders able to act do nothing. Failure to hold Israel accountable reflects complicity with crimes too great to ignore. They’ve persisted for decades. They show no signs of ending. On October 30, […]

Former Clinton administration Labor Secretary Robert Reich explained, saying: “Of all developed nations, the United States has the most unequal distribution of income, and we’re surging towards every greater inequality.” America’s 400 richest elites have more wealth than half the population. Jacob Kornbluth’s new documentary film “Inequality for All” examines disturbing truths. US inequality is […]

On Monday, UN inspectors released their eagerly awaited report. Security Council members were briefed in closed session. On Tuesday, the report was published online. It’s titled “Report on the Alleged Use of Chemical Weapons in the Ghouta Area of Damascus on 21 August 2013.” On September 16, the UN News Centre headlined ” ‘Clear and convincing’ evidence […]

On September 15, Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said his government “views with great seriousness the Russian-US deal.” It intends to observe it to the letter, he stressed. It’s “committing itself to whatever comes from the UN. We accept the Russian plan to get rid of our chemical weapons.” “In fact, we’ve started preparing our list. We […]

Russia emphatically opposes war on Syria. Throughout months of conflict, it’s gone all out to prevent further escalation.  With China, it vetoed three Security Council resolutions to do so. Putin and Obama represent opposing doctrines.  Putin supports peace and stability. He believes nation-state sovereignty is inviolable. He affirms UN Charter and other fundamental rule of […]

Fukushima: Uncontainable: They’ll be too little to late to help victims.   Japan’s apocalypse continues. Emergency conditions persist. No end in sight looms. Fukushima’s radioactive discharges can’t be stopped. They continue. They’re uncontainable. At issue is by far the worst environmental disaster in history. It’s multiples worse than Chernobyl. It’s an unprecedented catastrophe. It’s reason enough […]

Israel reflects the worst of rogue state governance. It’s contemptuous of international laws, treaties, conventions, its own statutes, and High Court decisions. It’s out-of-control. It’s unaccountable. It makes its own rules. It maintains lawless militarized occupation harshness. It force-feeds austerity on its own citizens. It suffocates 1.7 million Gazans. It attacks other countries with impunity. It’s waging undeclared war on Syria. It’s partnering with Washington doing so. It supports terrorist fighters. It supplies arms and munitions. It hospitalizes wounded ones. Netanyahu lied saying Israel’s sole interest is preventing Syrian weapons transfers to Hezbollah. At issue is partnering with Washington’s war. It’s about regime change. It’s about ravaging another country doing so. It’s about eliminating a regional rival.

America’s War on North Korea*   On July 27, 1953, the Korean War ended. An uneasy armistice persists. The heavily fortified 2.5 mile Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) separates North and South. Occasional incidents occur. Truman’s war never ended. Its origin was misreported. IF Stone’s “Hidden History of the Korean War” explained. Monthly Review co-founders Leo Huberman […]

CIA Operatives and the Targeted Assassination of Foreign Leaders     No one’s safe from America’s long arm. From inception, CIA operatives developed skills to kill. Fidel Castro survived hundreds of assassination attempts. He knows best how Washington operates. Other leaders weren’t as lucky. In April 1994, CIA surface-to-air missiles killed Rwandan President Juvenal […]

Ron Kovic’s an anti-war activist. He was born on July 4, 1946. Vietnam combat left him paralyzed. He’s wheelchair-bound. His memoir titled “Born on the Fourth of July” became an Academy Award-winning film. Oliver Stone directed it. Tom Cruise played Kovic. An updated 2005 book introduction said in part: Vietnam’s “disastrous war” changed his life. It affected […]

America’s run by sociopaths. They’re out-of-control criminals. They’re traitors. They menace humanity. They violate their sacred oaths of office. Presidents “do solemnly swear (or affirm to) faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of (their) Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” Congressional […]

On May 27, the so-called one-year EU arms embargo on Syria’s opposition ended. Officially it does so on June 1. EU nations agreed to end what never existed. Since Washington’s war on Syria began in early 2011, arms flowed freely. Western-enlisted death squads get them. At issue is replacing Assad with a subservient pro-Western puppet. […]

Center for Economic and Policy Research co-director Dean Baker calls poverty America’s “new growth industry.” The state of today’s America is deplorable. In his latest May 3 analysis, economist John Williams said “April “employment and unemployment data were nonsense: the economy remains in serious trouble.” About 23% of Americans wanting work can’t find it. Most jobs are temp or […]

Obama’s already waging multiple direct and proxy wars. He’s heading America for more. Russia, China and most other nations want peace. May 8 commemorates Victory in Europe Day (VE Day). Russia’s toll was greatest. For many, war horrors still echo. On May 9, Russia commemorated Victory Day. Ceremonies included an elaborate Red Square military parade. Vladimir Putin spoke on the occasion. He’s mindful of Washington’s imperial plans. He stressed Russia’s commitment to peace, saying: “We remember what the tragedy of war means, and we will do everything, everything that we can to ensure that no one ever dares unleash another ne, to ensure that no one threatens our children, our home, our land.”

Israel and America are longstanding imperial partners. They spurn international laws. They do so repeatedly. They ignore their own. They jointly plan and wage wars. Israel’s attack on Syria was a joint  US/Israeli provocation. Haaretz’s military correspondent Amos Harel suggested it, saying: “The (US) administration officials’ familiarity with the nature of the Syrian targets seems to indicate […]

New allegations claim Syrian chemical weapons use. We’ve heard similar ones before. Obama calls using them a “game changer.” He also said their use crosses a “red line.” Syrian officials are unequivocal. Weeks earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad spoke for others saying: “Syria stresses again, for the 10th, the 100th time, that if we had such weapons, they would not be used against our people. We would not commit suicide.” Alleging Syrian chemical weapons use resembles bogus claims about Saddam’s nonexistent WMDs. It’s similar to false charges against all US enemies.

What’s ongoing resembles post-9/11 events. Fear-mongering, lies and misinformation replace truth and full disclosure. Muslims became public enemy number one. Who’ll suffer most with them this time? Vital information is suppressed. Fingers point the wrong way. Innocent victims are blamed for state-sponsored terror. More on that below. National emotions are aroused. At issue is enlisting […]

Chalmers Johnson called the CIA the president’s private army. Imperial Rome had its praetorian guard. It served and protected emperors.  CIA rogues work the same way. They do lots more than that. Extrajudicial killing is prioritized. Much that goes on is secret. Unaccountability keeps Congress and ordinary people uninformed. Johnson said US presidents have “untrammeled control […]
