If Pentagon chief James Mattis was seeking to reassure the world of American restraint in the North Korea crisis, he clumsily did the opposite. The US Defense Secretary was speaking after intense discussions with President Trump and other senior military officials in the White House Situation Room following the sixth nuclear test carried out by […]

The Western media would have us believe that North Korea and its nuclear arsenal is the world’s number one threat. The continual depiction of a “rogue” state in the Western media plays into the US agenda of a pre-emptive attack on North Korea. But let’s get this straight. North Korea has an estimated 10-20 total […]

US President Donald Trump appeared to adopt two very different public persona this week, when first he delivered a stern speech announcing a new military strategy toward Afghanistan; and then the next day he regaled supporters at a rally in Arizona with his characteristic blustering style. American news channel CNN called the differing styles the «Two Trumps». […]

Trump’s Betrayal is Complete as Military-industrial Complex Rises to Power If one moment stands out as the clearest signal yet of US President Trump turning his back on supporters, it was his announcement this week to re-escalate American military intervention in Afghanistan. His signature campaign promise of putting “America First” and ending the folly of overseas wars launched by previous administrations was shredded on prime time television when he gave orders for thousands of more US troops to be sent to Afghanistan. The already 16-year war in that country – America’s longest – will now go on indefinitely longer. The Huffington Post headlined: “Trump’s vague new Afghanistan strategy continues an endless war.”

The political opponents of President Trump have found a new lever for sabotaging his presidency – his alleged embrace of white supremacists and Neo-Nazis. He is now being labelled a «sympathizer» of fascists and bringing America’s international image into disrepute. Cue the impeachment proceedings. Notably, the same power-nexus that opposed Trump from the very outset […]

With four weeks to go until the start of Russia’s Zapad (“West”) war games in Belarus, Western media are already reporting alarm bells that the exercise is a cover for an invasion into NATO countries. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, the United States is mobilizing a giant military force within days off the Korea Peninsula that could very well ignite World War III. Strangely enough, or perhaps not, the Western media report no concern about that much more ominous development. The selective hysteria and double think over Russia-Belarusian military defense exercises, which occur every four years, makes a good case that those maneuvers should be renamed ‘Zapped’ – such is the brain-dead condition of NATO governments’ thinking and the Western media reporting.

The threats from US President Donald Trump and the Pentagon to «destroy the North Korean people» – said with such casual cold heartedness – shows that the American ruling class has no compunction about committing the supreme crime of genocide against innocent civilians. Those threats to North Korea, coming in the same week that the […]

… Regret Their Action. In backing the latest US-led sanctions against North Korea at the United Nations Security Council, both China and Russia seem to have made a tenuous bet to resolve the crisis on the Asian peninsula. By deferring to Washington’s punitive sanctions, Beijing and Moscow are calculating that the US will relent on their […]

So the American bully wants to slap more sanctions on Russia over alleged misdeeds. This is blatant temper tantrums by a frustrated US trying to get “its way or no way”. It’s so absurd. The biggest rogue nation on Earth, illegally bombing and killing civilians in several countries simultaneously, covertly arming terrorist proxies in the Middle East, and a rampant […]

President Trump’s announcement this week to end the CIA’s covert arming of militants in Syria is an admission of defeat. The US has lost its six-year war for regime change in the Arab country. It’s time to wrap it up. It’s not over yet, of course. It remains to be seen if Trump’s decision can in fact be implemented. Can the CIA be reined in to obey orders? Will the US be able to stop regional client regimes, like Saudi Arabia, from stepping up their covert supply of American weapons to the militants in Syria? Also, Trump’s decision does not mean the US and its allies will withdraw ground and air forces from Syria, where they are illegally operating in violation of international law.

In a sharp about-turn, US intelligence agencies are now accusing the United Arab Emirates for hacking into Qatar’s official news agency, thereby sparking the Gulf crisis between Washington’s Arab allies. The latest twist amounts to an admission that the US is guilty of previously broadcasting fake news blaming Russia. This week, the Washington Post cites […]

Political opponents and US media are calling the uncovered past meeting between Donald Trump’s son and a Russian lawyer a “smoking gun”. This is the proof, we are told, that the Trump election team did indeed collude with the Russian government in order to win the US election at the end of last year. Since […]

On the passing of German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin spoke fondly of the great statesman and his herculean efforts to reconcile Europe and Russia. Putin said he agreed with the late German leader’s view that the Cold War between West and East had been largely brought to an end. The Russian president […]

Despite a vicious smear campaign to denigrate Britain’s Labour leader as a “terrorist sympathizer,” Jeremy Corbyn still pulled off an amazing achievement in the general election. Hardly has a politician in any Western state been so vilified with character assassination, and yet he has proven to be most popular Labour leader in Britain since the Second World War. After weeks of trailing his Conservative rival Theresa May in the polls, Corbyn’s socialist manifesto appealed to a record number of voters – closing the gap between the parties to only two percentage points behind the Tories.

The latest test of a far-reaching ballistic missile by North Korea came only days after South Korea’s new president Moon Jae-in was inaugurated, saying that he was prepared to engage in diplomatic talks with his northern neighbor. The missile test, which reportedly proves the North has achieved ballistic capability to launch a weapon strike on […]

This article was originally posted on the RT. In an extraordinary moment this week, Russian leader Vladimir Putin offered Washington a challenge to discover the truth over sensational US media claims that President Trump had leaked top-secret information to Russia. Washington rebuffed Putin’s offer. It was akin to the iconic scene in the sci-fi movie, […]

US President Donald Trump is being widely accused of a «Nixonian» cover-up after he took the drastic step of firing James Comey, the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Comparisons are made by Washington politicians and pundits of disgraced former President Richard Nixon who sacked an independent investigator looking into the Watergate scandal back […]

US President Donald Trump’s readiness to use unilateral military force is undoubted, as his missile barrage on Syria and threats to North Korea and Iran attest. Alongside this militarism, however, is another, seemingly different side of Trump; one that appears to embrace talks and diplomacy with foreign leaders. Over the past week, the US president […]

This week the Kiev regime went into rogue overdrive when it cut off electricity supplies to some three million people in the self-declared Lugansk republic of eastern Ukraine. The Ukrainian energy ministry under the control of the Kiev regime said it was because the breakaway province was in arrears over bill payments. That’s rich coming […]

US media reports this week blamed North Korea for having a dastardly role in an alleged chemical weapons massacre in Syria. As if the two countries could not be demonized enough. The latest spin of the “axis of evil” suggests Washington is hell-bent on war. Demonize, dehumanize, destroy. That’s the logic being throttled by the […]
