PYONGYANG — North Korea is ready to test-fire an intercontinental ballistic missile “at any time, at any place,” according to a senior regime official speaking exclusively to NBC News. If such a launch was successfully carried out, it would be a major step toward Pyongyang’s goal of targeting the U.S. mainland with a nuclear-armed weapon. […]

British Prime Minister Theresa May told UK media that she would «press» US President Donald Trump to support the NATO military alliance when she visits Washington DC this week. May said she will remind Trump that NATO is the «bulwark of our defense». The meeting comes at an awkward time as news reports emerged also this week that a British nuclear missile test went badly wrong and targeted the US. The British submarine-launched intercontinental missile reportedly occurred last June. The test took place off the coast of Florida and the target area was supposed to be thousands of kilometers away in the southern Atlantic Ocean, apparently somewhere near the British colonial territory of St Helena, off Africa.

If it’s a trade war with China he would rather have, the new president will find himself on the back foot from day one. Hysteria reigns supreme at the dawn of the Trump era, with the President rebranded across the whole ideological spectrum as an American Mao or even an American Hitler. Let’s step away from […]

Goodbye President Obama! Japan is mourning your imminent departure. It is mourning because you were such a good friend, an exceptionally predictable ruler, and a truly traditional imperialist. You spoke so well, and tormented all those unruly colonies with admirable zeal and effectiveness! What is soon coming is untested and therefore frightening. Obedient and disciplined […]

Philippines, for decades a limping invalid, poor and suffering from countless ailments, is now suddenly finding itself at the vanguard, reshuffling the entire Asia Pacific, sending Western imperialists packing. In Manila, where the US used to roam unopposed, now Russian warships are calling on goodwill and symbolic visits. On January 6 2017, Philippines President Rodrigo […]

The push to commercialise the growing of genetically modified (GM) mustard in India is currently held up in court due to a lawsuit by Aruna Rodrigues. The next hearing is due in February. Incoming US Secretary of State «T Rex» Tillerson told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that China should be denied access to islands in the South China Sea. Militarization of the islands, he said, was «akin to Russia taking Crimea» from Ukraine. Incoming Pentagon head James «Mad Dog» Mattis told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee the […]

Chinese leader profits from a geopolitical vacuum only days before Donald Trump’s inauguration He did it, his way; Chinese President Xi Jinping descended on the Swiss Alps; profited from a geopolitical vacuum only three days before Donald Trump’s inauguration with the Atlanticist West mired in stagnation and/or protectionism; unleashed a charm offensive; and deftly positioned […]

The president’s Davos speech stressed a message of pluralism Samuel Huntington must be laughing in his grave. More than a decade ago the prescient political scientist popularised the term Davos Man. This was the cosmopolitan proponent of “transnationalism” who dreamt of a world in which borders would disappear, states would be obsolete, and all would […]

A Financial genocide, if there was ever one. Death by demonetization, probably killing hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, through famine, disease, even desperation and suicide – because most of India’s money was declared invalid. The official weak reason for this purposefully manufactured human disaster is fighting counterfeiting. What a flagrant lie! The […]

In light of a recent incident at the UN it would seem widespread discussion is needed about the importance of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 11(1) January 24,1946. (1) UN General Assembly Resolution 11(1) January 24, 1946, has a title and an introductory statement. It reads: “UN, Resolutions Adopted on the Report of the Fifth […]

Notable American foreign policy critic and linguist, Professor Noam Chomsky, has stated numerous times that the United States’ power has steadily been declining since the end of World War II. As Chomsky notes, in 1945, the United States had “literally half the world’s wealth, incredible security, controlled the entire Western Hemisphere, both oceans, [and[ the opposite […]

How to draw the line between the recent and still unsettled EU/EURO crisis and Asia’s success story? Well, it might be easier than it seems: Neither Europe nor Asia has any alternative. The difference is that Europe well knows there is no alternative – and therefore is multilateral. Asia thinks it has an alternative – […]

The original source of this article is Global Research A version of the following piece was originally published in June 2016. However, since then, India’s PM Narendra Modi has embarked on a ‘demonetisation’ policy, which saw around 85 percent of India’s bank notes becoming invalid overnight. Emerging evidence indicates that demonetisation was not done to […]

Future historians may well record 2016 a vintage year for Russian President Vladimir Putin. At any rate, at this point we can say it has been a good year for the Russian leader and his country’s international standing. Even Western media, which did its best to discredit, even demonize, Putin have had to admit so, albeit begrudgingly. This week, the London Financial Times described the Russian leader as «Buoyant Putin». While last week, the Washington Post headlined: «Moscow has the world’s attention. For Putin, that’s a win». The Washington Post surveyed some of the key developments

The two previous articles have focused on the various geopolitical theories, their translations into modern concepts, and practical actions that the United States has taken in recent decades to aspire to global dominance. This segment will describe how Iran, China and Russia have over the years adopted a variety of economic and military actions to repel the continual assault on their sovereignty by the West; in particular, how the American drive for global hegemony has actually accelerated the end of the ‘unipolar moment’ thanks to the emergence of a multipolar world. From the moment the Berlin Wall fell, the United States saw a unique opportunity to pursue the goal of being the sole global hegemon. With the end of the Soviet Union, Washington could undoubtedly aspire to planetary domination paying little heed to the threat of competition and especially of any consequences.

In his address he sent New Year greetings to all Koreans and the progressive people of the world. 2016 was a year of revolutionary and auspicious event and great turn to be specially recorded in the history […]

I’m a former lifelong Democrat, stating here a clear and incontestable fact: Barack Obama is a failed President. It’s true not just because of the sad realities such as that «Top Ex-White House Economist Admits 94 % Of All New Jobs Under Obama Were Part-Time» — or, as the economists Alan Krueger and Lawrence Katz […]
